Honda's new CR-Z(Compact Renaissance Zero) proves that merging green automotive technology with practical-yet-futuristic style is indeed possible. Currently being shown off at the Tokyo Motor Show the CR-Z makes nice with the environment by employing a gas-electric hybrid system.
Despite the car's "concept vehicle" tag, Honda has confirmed that the CR-Z will in fact hit the streets in 2009 (pricing has not been announced). If you want to get an up-close gander at the successor to the classic CRX hatchback of the '80s, you have until November 11th to make it to the Tokyo Motor Show in Chiba City, Japan.

Sony Ericsson Bluetooth watch combines style, tech

We're no stranger to Bluetooth watches around these parts. We've seen their designs progress from the original Tron-style,to a reminiscent of the 1990's calculator watch. Now Sony Ericsson, with the almost nameless help of Fossil, has a Bluetooth watch that the stylish Joe (or Jane) might actually wear. The MBW-150 got a little more official today with beautiful a price and release date.
The MBW-150 comes in three different flavors — classic, music (pictured) and executive — each with its own flare and pizazz. Good looks aside, these watches can really function by being able to pair with Sony Ericsson phones to act as a wireless remote, caller ID and vibrating call notifier. These watches are available for a very reasonable $200 from Sony Ericsson. Now if only they would work on non-Sony Ericsson phones...

LG Touch concept is nice, nice and fake

I love concept gadgets because they don't need to conform to the reality of the tech world, you know, designing things that could actually exist. Instead, they focus completely on style and functionality, leaving the actual logistics of the device up to the eggheads in engineering.
Take this LG Touch concept, for example. It couples a slick, iPhone-like handheld with a big old dock with a fancy, glowing keyboard. The dock would act as a terminal for the phone, allowing you to use it as a mini-computer when not out and about. Sounds great! Now just invent it into reality and we'll be all set.

High school student designs killer concept phone

We've been staring longingly at the Butterfly cell phone all morning. The slick slider has a touchscreen, a weather indicator, and Wi-Fi — not to mention it's totally hot. Of course, anything this cool would have to be a concept, but one with an amazing twist: its designer, Andrew Kim, is just 15 years old. This kid's in high school, for crying out loud, and he's pulling off design concepts that would put the pros to shame, complete with detailed spec sheets.
Of course, that doesn't mean the phone's chances of actually being made are any better than other
wild concept mobile gear we've seen, although Kim had the realistic foresight to design the Butterfly with only technologies that are in the marketplace right now (TFT and OLED screens, a music player, an SVGA camera, etc.), as opposed to wacky stuff like flexible screens or "G4" capabilities. Keep up the sweet work, Andrew!
